Habitat for Humanity Durham is a charitable,faith and community-based organization working for a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live. Our mission is to mobilize volunteers and community partners in building affordable housing and promoting home ownership as a means to breaking the cycle of poverty.
A member of Habitat for Humanity Canada and part of a worldwide network that spans 100 Countries, Internationally has built over 300,000 homes, and is now building a new home every 21 minutes. Habitat for Humanity Canada is responsible for over 1,400 homes in Canada with 73 affiliates in 10 provinces and two territories. Canada hosts 60 ReStores and has 11 Campus Chapters. Canada has also managed 31 Women Build Homes, and out of all the affiliates 73 our last 5 year goal for 500 houses to be built is very close to being achieved.
